These images are sent to AI service providers (Google Gemini or OpenAI) solely for generating a disease diagnosis. The AI providers process images in real-time and do not permanently store them.
- Farmer Diary Entries: Content you create in the Farmer Diary feature, including text entries, photos, and farming data you choose to share.
- Questions & Queries: Text and voice inputs you provide when asking farming questions to the AI advisor.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: Features used, pages visited, time spent, and interaction patterns within the app.
- Location Data: With your permission, we may collect your approximate location (district, state) to provide localized weather data and region-specific farming advice. We do not track your precise GPS location continuously.
- Log Data: Server logs including IP address, access times, and error reports to improve service reliability.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Weather Data: We obtain weather information from Open-Meteo (a free weather API) based on your provided location to give you farming-relevant weather alerts.

3. AI and Data Processing
Our Service uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide farming advice, crop health diagnosis, and other features:
- Crop images are sent to AI providers (Google Gemini or OpenAI) for analysis. These providers process images solely for generating diagnosis results and do not retain your images for their own training purposes.
- Text queries are processed by AI to generate farming advice. Your queries are not used to train AI models.
- AI-generated advice is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional agricultural consultation.
- We maintain a local crop disease database that can provide basic diagnosis even without internet connectivity.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following situations:
- AI Service Providers: Crop images and text queries are shared with AI providers (Google, OpenAI) strictly for processing your requests. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.
- SMS Service: Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for sending OTP verification codes.
- Community Features: If you choose to share Farmer Diary entries publicly, other users can view your shared content and the name you provide.

- Safety: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely in PostgreSQL databases with encrypted connections.
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt) and are never stored in plain text.
- Sessions are managed securely and expire after a reasonable period of inactivity.
- We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
- While we implement appropriate security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Crop health scan images are processed in real-time and not permanently stored on our servers after analysis.
- Farmer Diary entries are retained until you delete them or your account.
- OTP codes expire within 10 minutes and are deleted after use.
